Il mercato degli SSD è in continua crescita, grazie a prezzi più accessibili e ad una maggiore disponibilità tutti quanti possono equipaggiare il proprio PC con un drive ad alte prestazioni, il risultato è un boost nei tempi di lettura e scrittura non indifferente, soprattutto se il drive è utilizzato per il sistema operativo, quando la capacità è limitata ecco entrare in gioco i cache drive, a breve su Xtremehardware recensiremo entrambe le tipologie di SSD. [Anteprima] Corisair Performance PRO e Accelerator Corsair è attualmente tra i leader nel mercato degli SSD grazie a una vasta gamma di drive adatti ad ogni esigenza, abbiamo già avuto modo di ammirare le performance dei drive della serie Force GT e a breve pubblicheremo la recensione del più recente Performance PRO. Il controller utilizzato per questa soluzione, a differenza dell'SF2281 del Force GT, è prodotto da Marvell ed è basato su BGA; Seppur meno performante in alcuni benchmark del chip SandForce il controller Marvell, stando alle statistiche, risulta più affidabile. Le prestazioni rilevate con ATTO Bench 32 non sono al di sopra degli altri drive della casa produttrice ma, come andremo a vedere, il nuovo Performance PRO è in grado di competere e in alcuni casi primeggiare gli SSD rivali in molti altri ambiti. Essendo il rapporto prezzocapacità il punto debole degli SSD anche Corsair ha realizzato un cache drive in grado di creare in pochi semplici passi una soluzione ibrida che unisce la capacità di un hard disk alla velocità di un SSD. L'Accelerator è un particolare SSD con interfaccia SATA II in grado di immagazzinare e gestire, tramite l'ausilio di un apposito software in dotazione, la cache proveniente da un disco rigido, in questo modo i dati in lettura e in scrittura presenti temporaneamente sull'SSD risulteranno gestibili in tempi più stretti diminuendo di fatto i tempi di attesa. In passato abbiamo già avuto modo di testare drive adibiti alla cache e non siamo stati particolarmente colpiti dalle prestazioni che queste soluzioni riescono a dare.
