Uno step produttivo più recente permette di diminuire i consumi grazie a VID più bassi e aumentare le capacità di overclock. Come faccio a capire qual'è lo step della mia cpu? Su cpu-z nella prima pagina Nelcampo revision c'è scritto lo step della vostra cpu. Come faccio a capire lo step di una cpu che ancora non ho acuistato? Si può risalire allo step della cpu tramite le ultime 5 lettere del "Product code" che si trova scritto su quell'etichetta che sta appiccicata sulle scatole dei processori boxed. E il batch (qualcuno lo chiama anche sigla) cos'è? E' una sigla che sta ad indicare il lotto di produzione della cpu lo stabilimento e la settimana di produzione. Qualcuno sfrutta questa sigla per orientarsi sulle capacità di overclock di una cpu, vedendo i risultati di cpu fortunati con sigla simile. Ci sarebbe da discutere un anno su questa cosa e non è ora il mio scopo. In generale, comunque, non è detto che due cpu con sigla simile o uguale abbiano prestazioni simili. Nelle seguenti tabelle sono raccolti tutti gli step produttivi di ciascun processore Intel Core, con la rispettiva parte del product code. Alcuni processori hanno diversi step e quindi proprio in quei casi occorre fare attenzione per scegliere il migliore tra i due. Iniziamo con la tabella degli Intel Core 2 Intel Pentium Dual Core Intel core i3 Con i processori della serie iX è stata aggiunta la voce #Core che ci indica il numero di core fisici e il numero di core logici tra parentesi. Qualora il processore fosse dotato di tecnologia HT troveremo un numero di core logici doppio rispetto al numero di core fisici. Ricordiamo che la tecnologia HT non porta a un raddoppio effettivo delle capacità di calcolo della cpu ma il guadagno è stimabile intorno a circa il 30% e caria a seconda delle applicazioni. Database Step e Sigle Cpu Socket 775 Celeron, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad ? si si potrebbe fare...i proci dei portatili me li sono risparmiati perchè tanto nessuno li va a comprare sfusi e quindi le sigle di solito non interessano....magari sarebbe da fare una tabella comparativa con le caratteristiche:) ora modifico il titolo edit: uhm non posso metterli tutti nel titolo...perchè dovrei mettere anche i pentium dual core...l'ho messo così... Totocellux Posted October 11, 2008 Share Posted October 11, 2008 ben fatto Leo a parziale completamento ho tradotto alcune faq, direttamente dal sito Intel, del significato della sigla sSpec e della parola stepping utilizzate appunto per meglio poter individuare e valutare la cpu interessata. Che cos'è l'sSpec? La stringa sSpec è anche conosciuta come numero di specificazione o codice SL. E' composta da 5 caratteri (SL36W, XL2XL, etc), che vengono sovraimpressi direttamente sulla cpu (o sul proprio HIS negli odierni processori) e congiuntamente (nelle versioni boxed) all'esterno dello scatolo contenitore, immediatamente sotto il relativo codice a barre, con la dicitura "S-SPEC". Tale stringa sSpec è utilizzata per identificare le Specifiche di Stepping del processore. Tutti i numeri di processore hanno lo stesso sSpec? Lo stesso numero di processore (ad esempio E8400, Q6600, E2160 etc.) può avere differenti sSpec. Ciò accade perché qualora necessitasse un cambio di stepping di un determinato processore, viene generato un nuovo sSpec per identificarlo univocamente. E' anche vero, però, che lo stesso livello di stepping può tuttavia avere più di un sSpec associato ad esso. Che cos'è lo "stepping"? Nella forma più semplice, è una revision del silicio del processore. Lo stepping può essere diviso in due varianti fondamentali. La prima e più importante viene chiamata "full-layer stepping", nella quale, nel processo di cambiamento, possono essere interessate tutte le maschere utilizzate per creare il silicio. La seconda è denominata "metal-layer stepping", nella quale le maschere ad essere modificate sono esclusivamente quelle degli strati metallici, permettendo, in pratica, solo pochi, e meno sostanziali, cambiamenti alla cpu. Quando cambia lo stepping, qual'è la convenzione per la modifca della denominazione? Ogni stepping ha una denominazione differente. La convenzione usuale per ogni cambiamento è quella di modificare la "lettera" dello stepping precedente (ogni volta che avviene un "full-layer stepping"), o quella di modificare il numero dello stepping precedente (quando avviene solo un "metal-layer stepping"). Il primo "full-layer stepping" da, ad esempio, "A0" dovrebbe ovviamente essere "B0", ed il primo "metal-layer stepping", sempre da "A0", dovrebbe generalmente essere "A1". Dove può essere trovato l'identificativo di sSpec? Può essere trovato stampigliato sulla parte superiore della cpu, o sull'etichetta che viaggia insieme alle cpu "boxed" (quelle che arrivano all'interno di uno scatolo sigillato, contenente anche il dissipatore e rispettiva ventola, il manualetto di istruzioni e garanzia, ed il logo adesivo). Entrambe le posizioni, all'interno sia della parte superiore della cpu ed in quella dello scatolo, possono variare a seconda delle famiglie e dei modelli di cpu, ma saranno comunque ben visibili, insieme agli altri riferimenti necessari. Che cos'è l'sSpec? La stringa sSpec è anche conosciuta come numero di specificazione o codice SL. E' composta da 5 caratteri (SL36W, XL2XL, etc), che vengono sovraimpressi direttamente sulla cpu (o sul proprio HIS negli odierni processori) e congiuntamente (nelle versioni boxed) all'esterno dello scatolo contenitore, immediatamente sotto il relativo codice a barre, con la dicitura "S-SPEC". Tale stringa sSpec è utilizzata per identificare le Specifiche di Stepping del processore. Tutti i numeri di processore hanno lo stesso sSpec? Lo stesso numero di processore (ad esempio E8400, Q6600, E2160 etc.) può avere differenti sSpec. Ciò accade perché qualora necessitasse un cambio di stepping di un determinato processore, viene generato un nuovo sSpec per identificarlo univocamente. E' anche vero, però, che lo stesso livello di stepping può tuttavia avere più di un sSpec associato ad esso. Che cos'è lo "stepping"? Nella forma più semplice, è una revision del silicio del processore. Lo stepping può essere diviso in due varianti fondamentali. La prima e più importante viene chiamata "full-layer stepping", nella quale, nel processo di cambiamento, possono essere interessate tutte le maschere utilizzate per creare il silicio. La seconda è denominata "metal-layer stepping", nella quale le maschere ad essere modificate sono esclusivamente quelle degli strati metallici, permettendo, in pratica, solo pochi, e meno sostanziali, cambiamenti alla cpu. Totocellux Posted October 12, 2008 Share Posted October 12, 2008 il "metal-layer stepping" può essere anche denominata come revisione??? o quest'ultima è un'altra cosa??..... certo, in maniera non propriamente corretta potremmo indicare rev G0 o meglio rev G1, per esempio. E' ovvio che in questo caso si capirebbe perfettamente il voler dire stepping G1 .....Ad esempio: STEP A REVISIONE E0 un "metal-layer stepping", non potrebbe dare uno stepping E0, in quanto come abbiamo visto in precedenza, comporta un minor cambiamento rispetto ad un "full-layer stepping", e quindi dovrebbe aumentare solo il numero (B1 -E1 - G1): ecco perché, in teoria, non dovrebbero poter esistere dei "metal-layer stepping" con numero di stepping "0", ma soltanto con numeri superiori: il numero "0" è riservato ai "full-layer stepping".
