Questo modello preciso perchè non ne riconosce altri simili o per motivi legati al sistema operativo del navigatore?

per il modello, da quanto ne ho capito sui vari forum, credo sia perchè è collegato ad un flat con ponticelli già preconfezionati e impossibili da modificare per farlo funzionare in master; si scrive poi che molti abbiano provato ad inserirne uno più "capiente" ma non viene riconosciuto dal navigatore. Per il sistema operativo è indicato di eliminare qualsiasi formattazione interna, di installarlo e far partire il nav con il cd contenente il software del sistema; questultimo si arrangia a creare le partizioni come vuole lui... Non credo quindi sia legato al sistema operativo del navigatore....

Siccome mi sa che questo hd è praticamente impossibile da trovare ed esistono però alcuni negozi in cui riescono a far rifunzionare il navigatore con l'hdd rotto (è successo pure a me 2 anni fa) sostituendolo, credo si possa montare un qualcosa di simile, che abbia la stessa configurazione pin dell'originale e magari con capienza non troppo superiore (ho letto anche che basta sia inferiore ai 128 gb.... ma non ho nulla di certo).

beh.. foto non ne ho sottomano, comunque è un RT4 della magneti marelli, montato principalmente su Citroen e Peugeot... Ho trovato su un sito dove li vendono (arrivano dalla Cina...??) ma ho notato che sulla descrizione dell'HD scrivono la marca tos-hiba, oppure non la mettono e mettono solo il modello. Dalle foto sembrano uguali, ma mi puzza il discorso Tos-hiba

Rigenerato nel senso usato ma testato e funzionante, male che vada hai speso 10 euro... Non so se tu abbia approfondito altrove per quanto riguarda la compatibilità di questo navigatore con hard disk 2.5 ide che non siano toshiba ma, a occhio e croce, dovrebbe funzionare. Cosa ci sta sull'hdd? Mappe? Avresti comunque bisogno di un hard disk installato su un RT4 funzionante per fare un clone 1:1? Partizioni? Questa è la parte più difficile secondo me...

teoricamente io lo dovrei montare "pulito", senza partizioni, poi si arrangia il software a partizionare e installare il s.o.; il problema del toshiba o meno, sono i pin e la configurazione master slave... siccome non la posso modificare perchè la configurazione è sul flat, magari monto un hd a cui devo fare ponticelli su pin diversi per metterlomaster e sono gia fregato....Montare poi un rigenerato su un auto, dove è soggetto a vibrazioni/temperature "estreme" non la vedo una buona soluzione... a questo punto piuttosto rischierei quelli da 50 euro di marca tos-hiba (che ancora non ho capito se siano "patacche o cosa...)

Se il software del navigatore è stato sviluppato in maniera tale da riconoscere e comunicare solo ed esclusivamente con quell'hard disk con quello specifico firmware costruito appositamente per quel navigatore ci puoi montare tutti gli hard disk che vuoi che non funzionerà mai...Ad esempio, le xbox 360 riconoscevano hard disk solo ed esclusivamente western digital della serie scorpio blu, ma solo dopo aver flashato un firmware sull'hard disk stesso. Perciò ti dico, informati se la sostituzione con altre marche è possibile innanzitutto, magari manda una mail al produttore stesso o cerca sui forum se qualcuno ha avuto la stessa necessità e come ha risolto...

 

edit: cercando poco poco ho trovato addirittura gente che ha sostituito quello schifo di hard disk con una compact flash e adattatore:

 

1. Upgrade the system.

 

2. Replace the HD in the RT4 with the CF adapter and card.

 

3. Boot the RT4 and use the upgrade CD from (1) to install. This step creates the correct partitions on the CF card.

 

4. Copy everything from the old HD to your computer. It is sufficient to save the files and folders rather than use a disc image.

 

5. Remove the CF card from the RT4 and attach it to your computer. Copy the files from the old HD onto the CF card. Do this for all partitions, overwriting the files that were installed by (3).

 

6. Put the CF card back into the RT4 and find that it works!

 

Da qui puoi notare che ci vuole un cd apposito per partizionare l'hard disk vergine che vai a montare, e il pinout degli hdd ide è tutto uguale...

il cd upgrade ce l'ho (è quello che ti dicevo in qualche post precedente)... quello che non ho e non saprei quale prendere è il CF adapter.... la card credo basti una qualsiasi...

If you restore the partitions to a different hard drive, the system should be able to accept it without problems.

(not tested yet)

Just don't expect the same reliability from a 'regular' laptop hard drive.

I have tested a 160 Gb HDD, with all the partitions exactly equal but the Juke Box one. It was resized to 32 Gb (max in FAT32). The RT4 didn't boot. Maybe with a smaller disk…

To use another hard-drive than the original one in the RT4, you have to :

 

  • Take care that the jumper positions are equal to the old HDD: The connector inside the RT4 automatically jumpers the disk to Slave by short-circuiting the outer left pins.
  • save the MBR of the original hard-drive
  • format the new one with the same partitionning as the original one. When using fdisk you have to use the switch -c=dos to create DOS (FAT16 etc.) compatible partitions.
  • put in the new disk the saved MBR (with for example the latest version of mbrtool : DIY DataRecovery)

Do not forget a Windows MBR for an Intel processor is not very useful for a VxWorks system with a PowerPC processor. I did it with a 80Gb Wersten Digital 2" 1/2 hdd and it works.

Could you use a more than 32 Gb FAT32 partition for jukebox?

Secondo me sarebbe molto meglio usare la CF card con adattatore.

E segui la guida:

Ovviamente se hai l'hard disk rotto per il punto 6 devi trovare qualcuno che ti passa tutti i file e le cartelle.

Pensavo di risolvere ed eliminare qualche passaggio descritto sopra con questo:

Questo è già un ssd con interfaccia pata, dimensioni pari al vecchio hdd... l'unico dubbio è la flash MLC e SM2236 Controller che non so cosa significhino o se siano delle caratteristiche da valutare..

Qualcuno sa darmi indicazioni?

Secondo te (DoM3), con questo dovrei riuscire ad eseguire quanto indicato nella guida inglese? Pensavo di fare direttamente con linux un clone del vecchio hdd sul nuovo sdd, evitando il passaggio che sia il S.O. del navigatore a fare le partizioni...

Prima di fare qualsiasi acquisto devi recuperare da qualcuno i file che stavano su quell'hdd rotto perchè leggendo in giro ieri ho capito che per ogni modello di automobile i file all'interno dell'hdd sono diversi. Se tu monti l'hdd vergine e inserisci il cd, il software non farà altro che formattare e partizionare l'hdd vergine ma poi ci saranno alcune informazioni che non sarai in grado di impostare e sono contenute appunto nei file che ti mancano. Quindi il consiglio che ti do è di partecipare a qualche discussione che trovi su forum specifici di gente che l'ha già fatto e cercare di capire se questi file si possono recuperare in giro. Se trovi qualcuno con la stessa auto e lo stesso modello di navigatore funzionante sei apposto.

Questo sicuramente... il mio navigatore non è rotto, ma voglio appunto prevenire (un mio amico ha sborsato 900 euro per sistemarlo quando l'hdd si è rotto). Infatti la prima cosa che devo fare è copiare il mio hdd sul pc per poi avere tutti i file a disposizione.

Considerando che l'hd ha oramai 7/8 anni e statisticamente sono in zona "pericolosa" è opportuno che mi premunisca...
