Win98 Bootdisk Cambiare immagine avvio

Ciao a tutti, utilizzo una penna USB avviabile grazie ai file del bootdisk di Win 98 che ho scaricato e fin qui tutto bene, in quanto tutto parte correttamente e mi si avvia il SO che c'è sopra (che non è Win 98).

 

Il problema è che vorrei evitare che all'avvio si vedesse l'immagine di Win 98, ma non riesco a capire quale file devo modificare o sostituire. In rete si parla del file log.sys che aprendolo con paint è un'immagine, ma io questo file non ce l'ho tra i file che uso per rendere avviabile la penna. Ho provato ad aprire i vari file .sys con paint, ma nessuno si apre.

 

Qualcuno mi può aiutare a capire quale file devo colpire?

The windows load screen is simply a Bitmap (BMP) graphic file, but has been renamed with an SYS extension. The file you're looking for is listed here:

c:windowslogo.sys = start

c:windowslogos.sys = shutdown

To replace either file, its resolution must 320 x 400 resolution and in the Bitmap (BMP), PLUS it must be renamed to either logo.sys or logos.sys. For example, to convert any JPG file or GIF file to logo.sys or logos.sys, load the .GIF or .JPG into your favorite picture editor program (Paintshop Pro, for example -- http://www.jasc.com) and:

 

• increase color depth to 16.8 million colors
  
• resize the file to 320x400
  
• save the file as BMP to the C: drive (root directory)
  

Open an MS DOS Prompt (START -> PROGRAMS -> MS DOS PROMPT). Type in:

 

1. c:> cd windows
   
2. c:windows> copy logo.sys logo.old
   
3. c:windows> copy logo.bmp logo.sys
   

Side Note: the "c:>" and "c:windows>" represent the command prompt, and is not something you should be typing in. If you want to modify the logos.sys file, repeat the above steps but change the appropriate file names.

Reboot -- you will see the image.

Quella procedura è applicabile se hai installato il SO Windows 98, ma nel mio caso, non avendo Win 98 installato, non ho nessuna cartella Windows sulla penna, devo operare sui file di boot che utilizzo per rendere avviabile la chiavetta.
