Project Zero Posted August 12, 2010 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Dichiarazione importanti di Carmack su Doom 4: Un'affermazione piuttosto sorprendente, quella fatta da John Carmack, co-fondatore di id Software, all'Official PlayStation Magazine britannica. Secondo il leggendario game designer, infatti, Doom 4 arriverà probabilmente prima di quanto il pubblico possa pensare al momento, impiegando sicuramente meno tempo di Rage ad uscire dalla fase di sviluppo. Considerando che quest'ultimo è stato annunciato durante il QuakeCon del 2007 e dovrebbe arrivare nel 2011, possiamo farci un'idea dei tempi di sviluppo per il quarto capitolo dello storico FPS, che probabilmente arriverà comunque dopo il 2011. In ogni caso, Carmack sembra piuttosto convinto del buon stato di salute del progetto: "abbiamo Doom 4 che ci sta crescendo sotto i piedi al momento", viene riportato sulla rivista in questione, "il team di Doom sta andando molto veloce e sta lavorando su questa base tecnologica, non ho la libertà di poterne discutere molto, ma sta andando avanti tutta a gran velocità adesso". E poi: "non dovrebbe volerci tanto quanto è accaduto a Rage per arrivare sul mercato, sta rispettando la tabella di marcia e abbiamo delle ottime sensazioni in proposito". D'altra parte manca praticamente un giorno all'apertura del nuovo QuakeCon, che vedrà protagonisti proprio Hollenshed e Carmack.
