Inizialmente chiamati Phenom 7000, i processori con tre core di AMD integreranno finalmente la serie 8000. AMD dovrà far uscire due modelli nel marzo del 2008, i Phenom 8400 e 8600 (stepping B2), che avranno le rispettive frequenze di 2,1 e 2,3 GHz con 3 x 512 KB di cache L2 e 2 MB di cache L3. Nel secondo trimestre, AMD aggiungerà altri tre modelli Triple-Core, i Phenom 8450, 8650 e 8700. I Phenom 8450 e 8650 saranno basati sullo stepping B3 ed avranno le rispettive frequenze di 2,1 e 2,3 GHz. Il Phenom 8700 adotterà lo stepping B2 ed avrà frequenza 2,4 GHz. Tutte queste CPU avranno un TDP di 95 Watt. Evidentemente, il punto più interessante di queste CPU sarà il prezzo (sconosciuto al momento). Dunque in un confronto clock per clock con gli wolfdale perderanno... Li lasceranno però indietro nelle applicazioni che sfruttano il multicore, ma sono pochissime. Bisogna vedere piuttosto il b3.
