  1. 1. Corsaronero333 - The green water of class I've never seen anyone do anything like this. Beautiful and very innovative work with glass. 2. Tortured_soul - The Crow 2.0 This is a one of a kind mod. So many little details, and just really special! 3. DjinnVale - Project V8 I really like engines! And it's a quite special and well done mod!
  2. Thanks a lot man! I'm really happy with how this case out in the end! Just hope my girlfriend likes it too!
  3. Only 4 photos... That's just plain evil! :cheazz: Well, I'll post 4 and see how it goes.
  4. Thanks a lot Tom1! Well, it actually seems like I made it! Got up early and went to the workshop at 8 this morning. 5 hours later I was done. I'm sorry that I'm not better at taking pictures, and resizing them does not help. Here goes, I hope you like the finished result!
  5. I like wow! Thanks man! Thanks a lot! I actually believe that I'll get it done for tomorrow! Nope, there is no backlight. It would be quite difficult since the water is running through the aluminum right under the letters. Quick update. I'm completely beat from working too much, but in good spirit! I think 3-4 hours of work tomorrow morning should do the trick! Just a couple of pics for now! Who was the bright mind that decided to mount the pumps right there? With no access to the fittings... sheesh! Getting ready for the first liquid: Running through the system: Cpu block. Still not done bleeding the air: Res: That's it for now. I'll c you guys tomorrow with the finished pics!
  6. Reality just bites! I just came back from the workshop, it's now 9:30 pm. We spent the last 3 hours playing with the software for the drive mechanism, and everything works. Except for the damn thing that the motor is just not powerfull enough. So I have realized that this idea is not going to work in this configuration. This means that I will be done with the pc saturday, but not the drive mechanism. We're going to go with a servo solution instead. That also eliminates the switches and give a cleaner look. it just sucks though... :( But on the upside, I did some work on the case as well, and figured out how the tubing is going to be: That's the story right now. I'll be back with some pictures of the build saturday. C ya guys then.
  7. Thanks a lot! Yeah... Kind of sucks! But I decided to try to save it, and I'm actually quite happy for the result. I have to be done saturday, so I don't have time to paint it. Thanks man! Small update: Used some 1200 grit wet sand paper to see if I could rescue the paint. Then some cutting compound. I have to say that it's good enough. I'd love to go for great, but with the time left this is fine.: Got the res mounted finally: That's it for now. I'm hoping the tubing shows up friday as promised. If not I'll make do with what I got for now for the photoshoot. C ya soon guys! :thumb:
  8. So I guess we have to be done with the mods on saturday, right?
  9. Nope. I want the window to be clean so it doesn't take focus from the inside. Sorry! That goes for you too, sorry! Dammit! I guess things have been moving along without too many problems lately so something had to give... I made the window for the side today, and that went easy peasy: Filed to R3 in the corners: And this is where s**t hit the fan. I wanted to remove all the left over glue on the inside from the soundproofing. A couple of drops of the stuff I used went around the corners, and attacked the paint on the front! Don't think this will buff out, so I'll have to cover up the rad grill and shoot a layer of white tomorrow. Just what I didn't need since the whole thing must be done saturday... :( Well, s**t happens! C ya soon!
  10. Just a small update: I mounted the cpu block today. I put it in the lathe and took 1mm off of the bottom. It fits perfectly. But one thing that did not suit me was the tubing I bought. It's 10/8 mm so only 1mm wall thickness and that's not useable at all. It almost collapses with the bend radius you see on the picture. So I just ordered some Tygon with a wall thickness of 1/16". I think that will do the trick. Then I FINALLY got started on the main window in the front/side of the case. I don't know why but it seems like I had made it a huge problem in my head and just pushed it in front of me for a while... It took 45 minutes... Tomorrow I should finish it and get a window done. The gooey stuff is just glue leftover from the insulation. That will be wiped away. Besides that, it seems the guys have time to do finish up the software for the dvd drive on thursday, so I keep my fingers crossed!
  11. Thank you very much! I really try to make my mods so people will like them!
  12. Very nice work man! Personally, steampunk really is not my thing. But I truly respect the beauty of your work! The girls you posted in here however, really makes me like steampunk!
  13. Seriously? You think a button is cooler than a motion sensor? In that case I'll just explain it to you! When you swipe your hand over the motion sensor, the drive comes up and spits the dvd out. Then you put in a new dvd ( or not) and swipe over the motion sensor again, then the drive goes down. Thanks a lot man! I had to finish up the wiring for the dvd drive pcb. Had to steal 3.3v, 5v, 12v and ground from the PSU. I made a small insition in the wires from the PSU and soldered the wires on: Also got a couple of other wires done, and re-attached the plugs for the fans on the radioators. Now I just need to mount the PCB in the case. It will be placed somewhere around here: I still have quite a bit of work to do, but I don't feel stressed as I'm sure I will wrap this build up for next saturday. (If the software guys have time during the week, fingers crossed) Catch you guys soon!
  14. Thanks a lot! But please find some words, I like them! Uh Uh Uh! I forgot to show you another small detail! This is the motion sensor. With a drill I made today. The shape of these drills are perfect for thin metal, since they keep centered and cut so you don't have to worry about the drill getting pulled through the sheet metal when it penetrates the back. Mounted: THAT should be it for today, but you never know!
  15. Thanks man! Thanks a lot! I was not sure if it would be good, but as soon as I turned it on I knew it was the right decission! So I decided to do a small swap in motherboards on the build. This is my old board that I had in my pc until 2 months ago. This is only for show and pics. This must be done by saturday next week, and since my gf's in the middle of exams I have a sneaky suspicion I might be single if I start pulling the hardware from her computer right now! While installing the cpu cooler, I hit a small problem. I was quite aware that this was a posibility, and it's no real hinder. I'll just take it to the workshop and mill of a little. I finally got the PSU coverplate painted white: I meassured out where the holes for the pump inlets/outlets, and drilled them today. It's not easy to see, but they sit perfectly! :thumb: Since I'm not sure if I'll use all 4 holes, or only 2, I made a couple of plugs to close up the holes, just in case That's it for now. I was hoping to get further tomorrow, but I'm going out with the family and then the European Soccer Championship starts. Hopefully Sunday will bring more progress!
  16. Thanks a lot! It's all about finishing it up nicely! Very small update. Like I said, there's a milion little things to do now, so I'm just gonna snap a couple of pics here and there. Mounted some lights on the sides of the dvd drive mount: Painted the PSU: And Mounted the pumps: Should have some more things done tomorrow.
  17. Thanks a lot! Button? I don't need any button to activate that! You'll find out soon! Thanks for the kind words! Small update again. As I have the day off, I went to the workshop and got a couple of things done. First I had to shorten the rods that holds the reservoir together, and of course this happened... And then THIS actually happened! It's sooooo damn rare I get those out, and normally I won't even bother spending time on trying. But since the tap wasn't old/worn I had a small hope, and It worked! The res: And it will be mounted around here: I also finished up the bracket that holds the opening mechanism: Next up is... Hell I don't know! There's just so much still to do, so I'll get my butt out to do the bodyflight and take the rest of the day off. I think I'll try to compile a list of what is left to do, and take it from the top!
  18. Relax, I'm working as fast as I can! Small update, a little here and a little there! First I mounted the gfx to see how it looked: Good enough for me! Then I got going on a bracket for the mechanics for the dvd drive: Switches mounted: Goes somewhere around here: Then a small "DAMN" moment... There will not be enough room for the reservoirs, so I had to cut 30mm's off of them... Gonna look a bit beefy, but I think it's gonna work out. Tomorrow is a national holiday, so I'm going to work! I don't have that much time though, as my gf gave me a gift certificate for a body flight in a wind tunnel, so I'm cashing in on that tomorrow as well! C ya soon!
  19. Thanks guys! I try my best! I mounted the dvd drive in the case. It still needs a little bit of tweaking, a couple of 10th's of milimeters filed off here and there. But this is how it looks from the inside: Then I went on to making a bracket to keep the motherboard tray in place as well to mount the mechanical parts that moves the drive. I pulled the drive bay, and gonna replace with a piece of 3mm aluminum: This will also allow (fingers crossed) room for the reservoirs... Onto the waterblock for the gfx. I have decided to re use on of my 9800 gtx+ cards for this build. I admit there's not a lot of OOMPH in it anymore, but it's quite enough for my gf right now. Also I would need to make a new waterblock if I bought a new card, since I can't get myself to use a factory waterblock! It was made for my old G5 case, so I had to do a bit to get it nice for this build. There was some galvanic corrosion in it, so I decided to go with a white top instead of a see through. But here goes: Removed the black paint from the evga logo, and did it in white: Then I had to do something about the CYC inscription. Decided to make a small white plate with "Theory of Everything" written in it. I made it dirty so you could see it, but once I cleaned it you can't hardly see it. White top and plate mounted: My biggest concern was the PCI-E riser. It looks like crap and I decided to make a piece that hides the worst. It's not really beautiful, but it sure beats looking at the cable and print: Mounted on the riser: From the back: On the card: And with the block on: Not too bad for a couple of looong nights at the workshop. I'll be back soon with more!
  20. Damn... Things always take more time than you imagine them, don't they? I was hoping to get a lot further today than I did, but there are only so many hours in a day! Here's what I got for you: I had to mill a small channel in the lexan top to make room for the slimline adapter for the dvd: I also found a hinge that worked great, with almost no play. I know it's brass, but it'll be painted white. Mounted on the lexan top: Milled a piece of aluminum that I glued onto the back of the dvd drive, to mount on the hinge: Spent 15 minutes removing the damn label on top of the drive: In my happiness of everything going great, I completely forgot one important thing: When the top pivots around the hinge it moves up AND back at the same time. At this point I had glued the drive to the white top, and since there was no way I was trying to take it off, I had to figure out somehow to remove 0.5 mm off of the back edge: It worked perfectly, but the height of the drive is a bit off. It sticks out around 0.7 mm. Gonna get that fixed tomorrow. Here you see the back. No way around the 0.6-0.7 mm gap: In the up position: That's it for today. I should get the last small querks fixed tomorrow, and then get started on the part that holds the mechanical part that will lift the drive.
  21. Progress time. I got started on the top for the dvd-drive. Lexan part setup in the mill: Lexan done, and I also milled the piece I had left over from cutting out the top of the case: Put together: Test fit in the case: Top in: Now that could have been a lot worse! The position of the dvd-drive: With the top: Now I have to get everything put together, it should be somewhat easy now that I have all the parts. Until next time!
  22. I just googled the sanso... Damn that thing is bad! But since I need 2 loops, I need 2 pumps!
