Custom pump? That simply is custom watercooling guru's style. ;)

I just love the DNA grill!

Thanks! I actually did it before with the exact same pump. I have a very bad history of modding pumps. I killed 1 for my Nintendo Wii, and I killed another on my carpc. But that's what happens when you go a bit too crazy! :asd:

I made this for my carpc:

Only the base and the magnet is stock. :)

Since today is my birthday, I had nothing better to do than stay a couple of hours extra at work to get a couple of little things done, and also to mill the 240mm radgrill. :)

I was actually going to finish up the 120mm while the other was in the cnc, but forgot the fact that I use the small plane in the cnc while I need it to do the other!

So none of them are finished yet, but they will be tuesday the latest! :)

      On with the show!

      Milled the 240mm DNA radgrill:

      24022012267Medium.jpg

The left-overs. Had you asked me to mill these, I'd have said "no way"

      24022012268Medium.jpg

Finally I decided how/where the rads would be mounted in the case. Blue 240 on one side, the red 120 on the other:

      23022012262Medium.jpg

      That's it for now.

Can't wait to get further on this, as it finally feels and looks like something useful! :)

It's been a long time since last update, but here it is. :)

I had to remake my plans and put the 240mm rad vertical instead of horizontal. This leaves no room for the reservoirs, but I'll figure it out as I go along! (as usual!) :)

Cut the hole for the 240 radgrill after removing some soundproofing:

              Testfit:

              03032012273Medium.jpg

              03032012275Medium.jpg

              03032012276Medium.jpg

Unfortunately someone scratched the sidepanel :wallbash: but I'll just have to paint it along with the back. But then again I probably need to paint the whole thing to get a uniform shade of white! :)

I also did a quick test of the smd's on the 120 grill. Only one side mounted with the led's and keep in mind that the outer 8mm's all the way around will not be visible as they are for mounting in the case.

This is only on one side, there will be lights on all 4 sides!

              03032012277Medium.jpg

              03032012278Medium.jpg

              03032012279Medium.jpg

I'm quite happy with the way the light disperse in the acrylic. Nothing like the normal straight led light! :)

Well, that's it for now. C ya soon! :)

Thanks guys! I must admit I'm pretty happy about it too! :)

Which is also why I decided to take the protective film off!

Just wanted to show you how the 240 radgrill looked without protective coating. It was pretty stupid of me to put the thing in, as I still need to cut out another window, but I just had to see! :)

                    10032012280Medium.jpg

Not too bad if you ask me! :)

Right now I'm drawing up a sketch of the electronics for the dvd-drive. Ph.d. student at work owes me a favor for machining some parts for a homemade quad-copter, and I'm cashing in! :)

Next up is to make a plate to cover the PSU, and cut an extra hole in the side. Also a hole in the other side and one in the top part of the case. So much to do, so much time wasted on BF3 with my new gfx card!

                        Thank you very much!

I was not really happy with the smd led's, but I found out I only had 7.6v on them, so I tried with a 12v charger. That made a world of difference!

I guess it's about time for another update.

I didn't get much done as most I need is going to be milled on the cnc, and we have had different setups sitting in it the last couple of weeks. Hope to get some done during the week/next weekend.

But I do have a small update though. I made the PSU cover:

                                16032012288Medium.jpg

                                16032012289Medium.jpg

Still needs a bit of tweaking, but all in all I think it's going to be good! :)

                                C ya soon guys! :thumb:

Sorry for leaving you waiting guys. It's been hectic at work and I've been pondering a lot about the mod. But now I'm ready to go again! :)

On with the show, pictures is what you wan't! :)

I milled a hole in the side for the 120mm radgrill:

                                        23032012297Medium.jpg

This is (almost/kind of) where the dvd-drive is going to be placed.

I need to mill the in the top and make some more stuff for it.

Right now I've got a couple of my ph.d. homies in Electrical Engineering working on a controller board that will be used for the drive, and the motor.

                                        23032012298Medium.jpg

More on that when it's done. Should be within a week or 2!

Since all the plugs are hidden underneath the PSU cover plate, I need outlets for usb/audio/RJ45 and the GFX. These will be placed next to the 120 radgrill.

                                        Setup:

                                        24032012299Medium.jpg

                                        Milled:

                                        24032012300Medium.jpg

I encountered a problem with the radgrill, since It's pretty far to the side AND the bottom of the side plate. I had to dremel that away:

                                        Done:

Then I had to round the corners of the radgrill. 4mm radius, and the gauge to use as a template for filing down the corners:

                                        24032012303Medium.jpg

                                        Done:

It looks crooked, but it's just because it's not glued in place so it fell back.

Then I received the last of the cables needed. 4 usb's and 1 rj45 that are made for panel mount. The GFX cable is actually a splitter, so I need to make something to mount it. Not many options out there for a 5 inch cable for DVI

That's it for now. I hope to get led's in the 120 radgrill today, and finish the design of the cable outlet plate. I'll post pics later if I get it done! :)

Until then my fellow modders! :thumb:
