The iPhone has been without doubt one of the most talked phones and waited additions in catalogs. Scheduled to be launched in early January at MacExpo 2007, very little is known for sure about it. Real facts are only that it will have a 3 megapixel camera and a 2.2 inch display and will deliver iTunes and iSysnc support.
Expectations are that it will be in theme with Apple's hardware and software so far, so it should look really nice.
The most remarkable feature of the iPhone is the display, which I hear is breathtaking as it emerges from behind what appears to be black plastic. The whole front, with exception to a couple of millimeters along the edges of the iPhone, is touch sensitive and allows the customer to select from objects on the screen, such as the phone's keyboard. This feature was widely described for the nebulous full screen iPod and will instead be found in the iPhone. It was the patents that were acquired for the iPhone that started that speculation.
The iPhones PDA-like capabilities have been leaked already, such as email (via WIFI), calc, ical support, and others, so I won't go into those. Obviously the games featured for the existing iPods will be playable on the new iPhone.
Some of the coolest features mentioned, include the ability to have a hands-free conversation over auto adapters with the new iPhone. Bundled with the new phone is software called iTalk that keeps your voice from being carried over and includes privacy, IM and sync features.
Apple and Cingular have signed an agreement that will make the US' largest cell phone provider the exclusive carrier of Apple's forthcoming phone, sources report. Apple's iPhone remains on track for an early 2007 release.
There are more reports from analysts. Gene Munster writes that an Apple branded phone could hit the market the next six mounts.
One of the evidences put forth by Mr. Munster is the fact that Apple registered the domain Apple (currently redirecting to Apple's iPod website). This was done way back in 1999 - if you had told me then that Apple would be getting into the cell phone business, I probably would be rolling on the floor laughing, literally.
Another evidence is that Apple trademarked "Mobile Me" in January 2006.
Apple's exclusive contract with Cingular is said to be good for the
first six months, sources report, meaning other providers will be able
to sell the phone in the second-half of 2007

almeno interpretando c'ho che c'e scritto su hwupgrade:
"C'è da sottolineare che qualcuno dei rumors che si sono rincorsi sulla rete in fin della fiera era anche corretto. Il tutto ruota attorno al display da 3,5", che rappresenta anche l'unica interfaccia con il dispositivo, con una risoluzione di 320x480 pixel a 160 ppi (pixel per pollice). il prezzo non è esorbitante 500 dollari per 4gb 600 per 8gb
non ha l'umts (ma questo potrebbe cambiare in europa dove è più diffusa la rete umts).certo che il prezzo sarebbe adeguato adesso, un prezzo simile tra 7 o 8 mesi sarebbe troppo.

Domandone: ieri ho visto in mano auno un cell credo motorola con apertura a sportellino molto sottile(lo sportellino) quasi trasparente, con uno schermo molto bello come qualità e lo maneggiava con un pennino stile pocket pc, ma sul sito nn sono riuscito a trovarlo, qualcuno sa cosa per caso sia?

Dopo mesi e mesi di speculazioni, indiscrezioni, false immagini e concept, Apple presenta il suo telefono.Si chiama iPhone e non è difficle prevedere un grande successo per questo apparecchio, letteralmente bramato da migliaia e migliaia di appassionati.
Il look è decisamente accattivante, con un grande display touch da 3,5 pollici con una risoluzione di 320 x 480 pixel, che domina su tutto e uno spessore davvero ridottissimo.
Non c'è una tastiera ma tutte le funzioni, dalle chiamate, alla gestione dei contatti, della musica e alla navigazione internet sono facilmente accessibili e comandabili dal display.
L'iPhone non è solamente bello da vedere ma ha anche contenuti interessanti, anche se siamo rimasti un po' male nello scoprire che non è un terminale 3G ma 'solamente' un quadriband GSM EDGE.
Il sistema operativo utilizzato è (e non poteva essere altrimenti) l'Apple OS X.
L'iPhone integra inoltre una fotocamera da 2 Megapixel, 4 o 8 Gigabyte di spazio (a seconda della versione), connettività Wi-Fi, USB e Bluetooth 2.0. L'autonomia dichiarata è di 5 ore in conversazione (o riproduzione di video o navigazione internet) e di 16 ore in ascolto di musica.
L' Apple iPhone misura 115 x 61 x 11.6 millimetri per 135 grammi di peso.
Notizie un po' meno belle per quanto riguarda la disponibilità: questo apparecchio, all'inizio sarà un'esclusiva dell'operatore americano Cingular Wireless, nel listino del quale è atteso entro l'estate.
L'arrivo in Europa è invece previsto per la fine del 2007.
Il prossimo anno, infine, l'iPhone verrà lanciato in Asia. C
ontestualmente Apple ha anche presentato un nuovo auricolare stereo, in tema con l'iPhone, anch'esso dal design estremamente lineare ed elegante.
I prezzi per la versione americana saranno di 499 dollari per la versione a 4 Gigabyte e 599 dollari per quella da 8 Gigabyte, con un contratto di due anni.

Apple would be offering the iPhone to end customers in USA through the Cingular networks. Unfortunately, the device is expected to become commercially available in June 2007 only after it's approved by the FCC. Market availability in Europe is expected no sooner than Q4 2007, and as late as early 2008 in Asia. Initial pricing in Cingular networks will be 499$ for the 4GB model and 599$ for the 8GB one - both with a two-year contract.
