Hello,
UPDATED:
EDITED turns out Sapphire likes to put their LLC options backwards to confuse you!
Here are my new GOOD settings, I mean I bought this board on purpose lol....
:thumb: now thats more like it!
oh yeah i was stable @4ghz with 1.2vcore flat.
Target CPU frequency- 4200mhz Target memory frequency- 1600mhz Cpu freq- 200 Cpu Ratio- 21 Memory frequency- DDR-1066 2:8 Memory timing- By DDR 1600mhz 9-9-9-24-2t Uncore- slight oc to x18 PCIE frequency 101 Vcore- 1.2875 VDIM- 1.65 CPU VTT- 1.35 IOH- 1.3 QPI PLL- 1.35 LLC- DISABLED :bang head All powersaving options disabled Max load temp in P95- 75c
-----
before the confusion was solved
Ho un Intel I7 950@ 4,2ghz 1.45vcore su un sapphire pure black x58 motherboard.
ram corsair xms3 1600mhz 9-9-9-24-2t 1.65 volts

Hello, yes I am American but I live in italy.
The BIOS is up to date.

the parameter vcore is locked to 1.45 vcore or is selectable other frequency? ,maybe down the multiplier and see if you can change it

It's not locked, I can change to any setting.

but is instable right ?

1,225 I can post
1.3 I can use windows
1.45 stable system

did you stress the cpu with prime , lynx ?
try with
molti x20
vcore 1.3

My goal is to lower vcore not to lower the overclock

Usually I7 950 needs 1.3-1.35vcore to hit 4,2ghz
With 1.45vcore I should be able to OC 4.5-4.8ghz

Hello.
4,2 GHz is a quite high frequency for a daily use. Try to decrease a little bit the frequency in order to reach the stability with 1,3V or 1,35V of vcore
Which is you CPU cooler?
-
yes but as said leo try to decrease the frequency across molti and because i said x20

My cooler is Corsair H80, my tempuratures are good.

It seems to me that is an estimation a little bit too optimistic! The i7 950 is not a Sandy Bridge !
In any case each CPU has a different behavior, and the optimal settings should be found manually.
4 GHz is generally a good trade-off.

Ok I'm back already, this cpu does not like 20x multi XD
20x multi=crash at 1.45v
21x multi=crash at 1.3875 with longer time before crash.

try to set default settings save and exit from the bios, come back into and up the molti e vcore and tell us.

3.8ghz 1.3-1.325
anything beyond 3.8ghz wants alot of voltage.
upping IOH to 1.3 and pcie to 103 I was able to stress test 4.2ghz for a short period of time, which is a bit of an improvement. with vcore 1.3875

Yep, odd multipliers, if I remember well, are preferred by Nehalem CPUs.
Had you fixed the PCIe frequency before? This is very important when raising the bclk!
