Thanks man! It means a lot to me that you guys like what I do! :)

Just a quick and small update. It may not look any different at all, but I finally got around to mounting the cover plate on the bottom and

the back. That sure did stiffen up the case a lot! :)

        28042012385Medium.jpg

        28042012386Medium.jpg

And I made sure the gfx will sit vertical:

        28042012384Medium.jpg

Thank God I love modding, because I live in a 1 room appartment, and this is my workbench:

        28042012387Medium.jpg

 Gotta get the vaccuum cleaner out some time soon...

Now it's time to remove the drive bay, I just want to make sure the guys are done with all the electronics before I design the new piece

that goes there. It has to hold the dvd-drive, the DC motor and I have to find a good spot for the motion sensor. :)

That's it for now, catch you on the flipside! :)

Well... I actually DID think about it! But with all the other work I have on this, and the fact that I got the fittings for 1 Euro a piece, I just didn't feel like it was worth it... I have a couple of ideas for fittings, but there's just so much other stuff I need to do...

          1. I have to finish this build.

          2. Then I have to make new waterblocks for my own stationary pc. I got some new stuff the other day:

          24042012368Medium.jpg

Gonna go all black tops for the waterblocks, and try to make everything stealth, so you can't see the watercooling :)

          3. Then I have to find a new motherboard for my CarPc and rebuild that with the watercooling.

          4. Then I'm going to watercool my PS3....

Tell me when I should find the time to design and make fittings? :2funny:

Actually I was joking, that's already an insane mod and as you have already told us the cost is prohibitive. ;)

                Small extra update:

Saturday night at Angels place! Lot's of coffee and 100k points on Metro on BF3. Then it's time for a bit of modding! :)

There were some very small scrathes on the back of the case. North, South, East, West, Up, Down, Left, Right.. Don't know what to call it

anymore, but the pics will show! :)

This is what I used for my bike back in the day, and there is no doubt it's the best stuff ever! It was made for boats, but it's just a dream

to work with! Unfortunately they don't make it anymore, not sure if it's a health issue, or if the new product is better but it sure kicks

                butt! :)

To keep rambling, I can tell you that the manufacturer Hempel actually have a lot of cooperation with the Technical University of

Denmark, and I did a lot of work on those projects when I was an apprentice! :)

And a quick shot from the back:

                28042012394Medium.jpg

THAT should be it for now!

                        news

                        You can't rush awesomeness! :2funny:

(And you can't fix stupid either! :asd: )

                        Small update.

I've been busy elsewhere, and haven't had the opportunity to get any real progress.

The guy who's doing most of the electronics have less than a month left to finish his ph.d. thesis so he's been pretty caught up in that.

Although I tried to reason with him he still thinks that's more important than this!? (joke, he actually asked if he needed to finish it up, or if it could wait a month. I decided to cut him some slac :) )

It's almost done though, here's what we got so far:

                        The scematics:

                        15052012414Medium.jpg

                        The print:

                        15052012413Medium.jpg

                        And the whole damn thing:

                        15052012412Medium.jpg

Apparently there was a bit of work in it... So much work for such a little detail!

But I havn't been lazy at all!

Since I knew I would not finish this in time for my gf's birthday, I had to think of something else. I recalled she talked about always wishing for an R/C car when she was a kid, but never got one.

Now I'm no stranger to that type of thing, and I decided to pull my stuff out of the basement and build her one of my old parts. I have one rolling car, and 3 others for parts. It's the cheapo HBX cars, but they are quite good for starting up (She said that if she didn't get the pc, the gift could not cost more than $1) Even with all the parts I had, I still went a little over budget, but don't tell her!

After painting, but before fixing around the windows:

                        09052012404Medium.jpg

                        Bling bling:

                        08052012402Medium.jpg

She frikkin loves that thing! The perfect gift from the perfect boyfriend! :naughty:

That's it for now. I was hoping to get further the next couple of days, but we need to clear out the entire workshop to have the floors redone.

So it's be a week or 2... Have faith my friends, it will get done! :) Now the deadline is June 20th (ish) can't remember the exact date of her last exam. :)

                          Yet another small update.

I've had a 1/4" tap and a guide in my jacket-pocket for ages, and decided it was time!

The thread in the rads were a bit dirty, so I couldn't get the inserts in.

I filled the radiators with demineralized water (yeah, we have it on tap at work  ) To make sure that the dirt could be rinsed out by putting the rad upside down.

                          15052012415Medium.jpg

Teflon tape on the inserts. The rule of thumb I learned was to give it 7 turns. It may seem like a lot, but it never fails. :)

                          15052012416Medium.jpg

                          Inserted:

                          15052012417Medium.jpg

Next thing is to mount these 4 fittings on the pumps. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I'll cut the plastic inlets/oulets and make an M8x0,5 fine thread. It seems like the best idea with regards to the thickness of the plastic and diameter of the fittings.

                          15052012418Medium.jpg

Also I need to make an angle bracket for the 2 pumps. Hopefully I'll get these things done soon! :)

                              Yup! :)

I got a good deal on those pumps, so unfortunately it means that I'm not going to be making my own this time...

2 pumps are neccesary for 2 reasons:

                              1. I really want both red and blue liquid in the system.

                              2. The waterblock I made for the CPU is really bad for flow, so I'm not sure there would be enough pressure to do both CPU, NB and GFX.

But there is no doubt that it's an expensive sollution. I now have 2 of those pumps for that pc, and 2 more for my own setup. That's like 400 Euro worth of pumps in my appartment!

Heh... Honestly, I have no idea how much money I have put into computers, the Wii, and my PS3... And I actually don't want to know!

I just did a quick calculation, and there is around $4-500 in my girlfriends case and 80-120 hours of work... And that is without hardware! So I guess this kind of proves that modding is not about the money, but about the love! :)

                                      Why?

Why not? I have red and blue fans, I have red and blue LED's and I also want red and blue water. :)

                                        Small update:

Finally got around to making another thread in an angle fitting so the CPU block is now completely done! :)

Also as you see, I made the first pump top. Don't really care about looks and acrylic tops as they will be hidden. But it actually looks pretty cool! :)

That's it for now. I'm ready to go on, so the updates should be coming at a steady flow from now on. :)
