<![CDATA[Assassin’s Creed: più veloce con DirectX 10.1]]>Pare che la versione PC di Assassin’s Creed sarà il primo gioco a sfruttare il codice delle nuove librerie DirectX 10.1 di Microsoft.

Queste nuove librerie DirectX 10.1 sono incluse del Service pack 1 di Windows Vista uscito in questi giorni per la lingua Italiana.

Con l'hardware in grado di eseguirle, permettono un aumento prestazionale pari a ben 20% con il celebre titolo d'azione di Ubisoft, oltre ad aumentare la qulità grafica!

Per ora le uniche schede video che sfruttano le DirectX 10.1 sono le ATI Radeon serie 3xxx e la nuova Chrome 430GT di S3.

Saranno comunque da svolgere altri test, per determinare quanto questo aumento del frame rate sia dovuto alle nuove librerie e quanto al Service Pack 1 in sè.

In addition to addressing reported glitches, the patch will remove support for DX10.1, since we need to rework its implementation. The performance gains seen by players who are currently playing Assassin’s Creed with a DX10.1 graphics card are in large part due to the fact that our implementation removes a render pass during post-effect which is costly.

We don’t have an exact date for the release of this patch but we’re hard at work and hope to have further updates soon.

cmq se Nvidia non punta sulle dx10.1 dubito che le vedremo applicate a dovere, e per ora non se ne parla
