<![CDATA[3DMark Next systems requirements]]>Futuremark si appresta a rilasciare tra breve un nuovo Benchmark per le schede video di prossima generazione, infatti il nuovo Benchmark successore del famoso 3DMark 2006, prenderà il nome di 3DMark Next anche se non è stato ufficialmente confermato da Futuremark.

Sono emerse informazioni su questo Benchmark che sarà rilasciato a questo indirizzo, noi ve le riassumiamo:

3DMark Next System Requirements:

    x86/x64 single core CPU with SSE2 support. Performance similar to Intel Pentium D 3.2 GHz or better.
  • Fully D3D10/SM4.0 compliant graphics card, 256 MB
  • 1024 MB RAM
  • 2 GB Free Disk Space
  • Windows Vista (Server editions not supported)

3DMark Next Recommended System Requirements:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or equivalent AMD CPU.
  • Fully D3D10/SM4.0 compliant graphics card, 512 MB
  • 2048 MB RAM
  • 2 GB Free Disk Space
  • Windows Vista (Server editions not supported

Appare molto evidente che il benchmark richieda l'utilizzo di una scheda video dotata di supporto allo Shader Model 4.0, naturalmente le schede dotate di questo standard sono quelle che supportano le DirectX 10 e viene richiesto necessariamente l'utilizzo di sistema operativo Windows Vista, quindi di conseguenza il Benchmark sintetico non girerà su Windows XP.

Le specifiche minime richiedono che la scheda video sia dotata di almeno 256 Mbytes di memoria video on board e di un processore con supporto alle istruzioni SSE2, non è richiesto che sia di tipo multicore. Probabilmente in questo benchmark vengono integrati test specifici per le cpu.

In realtà no, il progetto non è mai partito da quanto ne so io. Come sappiamo tutti, le news girano in fretta, o molti in qualche modo ne approfittano per rigirare un pò la situazione, per fare scalpore ecco. Se poi mi sbaglio, chiedo scusa. ;)
