Redazione di XtremeHardwar Posted September 2, 2007 Share Posted September 2, 2007 Intel introduce il nuovo stepping G-0 per la sue cpu quad core, sia desk che server (Xeon), che consentirà di abbassare il consumo energetico dei chip. Gli attuali Core 2 Quad Q6600 e Xeon X3210 e 3220 hanno un TDP pari a 105 che, con il nuovo stepping, scenderanno a 95W; la temperatura di "sopravvivenza" delle cpu all'interno del case aumenterà da 62 a 73°C. Diverso anche il codice CPUID restituito, che passerà da 06F7 a 06FB, cosa che implicherà un aggiornamento del bios per le schede madri, pienamente compatibili con i nuovi processori, uguali nelle caratteristiche elettriche e meccaniche a quelli attualmente in commercio.
