Queste unità mobili sono le prime ad utilizzare la tecnologia ExpressCache SSD caching sviluppata da Diskeeper; tecnologia simile alla Intel Smart Response Technology. Quest'ultima, supportata dal chipset Z68, sfrutta un piccolo disco SSD come unità di cache per l'HDD magnetico. La tecnologia della Diskeeper in partnership con SanDisk, ha dimostrato che non occorre una specifica unità SSD ed un chipset apposito.
